App support
SalamLink is an evaluation app that works with compatible SalamLink prototype gloves. Each person uses one phone and one assigned glove.
Before you begin
- Use Android 10 or later, or an iPhone running iOS 16 or later.
- Turn on Bluetooth and Internet access.
- Allow Bluetooth and microphone access when SalamLink explains why they are needed.
- Keep each powered glove close to its owner’s phone during pairing.
Start a translated conversation
- On each phone, choose only the language that phone’s owner speaks.
- Pair each phone with its own assigned SalamLink glove.
- On both phones, select Open to Connect.
- Shake hands while the connection windows are open. The gloves—not the phones—perform the close-range handshake.
- Wait for both phones to show that live translation is ready, then speak naturally.
- Either participant can select End to close the conversation for both people.
If something does not work
- No glove found: confirm it is powered, keep it close to the phone, and retry pairing.
- Open-to-Connect expired: keep the gloves separated, reopen the window on both phones, then retry the handshake.
- Live translation unavailable: end the session, check Internet access on both phones, and start a fresh handshake.
- Microphone unavailable: open the phone’s system settings and allow microphone access for SalamLink.
- Previously paired glove unavailable: use the app’s pairing flow to forget it and pair the assigned glove again.
Contact
Email salam@salamlink.noorix.io. Include the phone model, operating-system version, approximate time, selected languages, and the exact message shown by the app. Do not send recordings or conversation content unless the support team explicitly requests it and you have permission from everyone involved.
Important limitation
Translation can be inaccurate. SalamLink is not an emergency, medical, or safety service. Use an appropriate professional or emergency channel for important decisions.
